Album Covers:-

Here are some album covers from artists of our chosen genre...

Coldplay;
I like this cover because of the vibrancy. All the colours mixed together and the confusion of the whole image works well together. It creates an atmosphere that reflects the album itself. The title of the album is in a simple yet effective white font. The text used is instantly recognised by any Coldplay fans and therefore makes the album more memorable.

Elbow;
This album cover is very simplistic. The band name is stated in bold purple lettering making it very clear. The name is also the only thing on the album that is in colour, again making it very apparent. The image underneath contrasts to this, as it is a simple sketch of what appears to be a man facing away from the audience. This works well as the factor of the album that is most apparent is the name of the band.

The Kooks;
I like this album cover of The Kooks, the image of the band reflects their musical nature. They all appear to casually be playing instruments, this sets the band up to be relaxed. The use of the white space, again makes the atmosphere seem laid back. The use of the bold lettering for the title and band name stands out because of the surrounding empty space and the colours used.

Oasis;
This album instantly reflects the 'Oasis vibe.' The image of the street and the blurred images of the men passing each other creates some sense of confusion. The name of the album is stated at the top in clear bold lettering making it very easy to read. The name of the band more importantly, is very clearly placed in the bottom right corner.

Snow Patrol;
The colour is the first thing that stands out to me on this album cover, the colour has a certain warmness that sets a safe and relaxed atmosphere. The bright light and the white space at the top suggests an element of the sun which reflects positivity.

Razorlight;
This album is very modern and simplistic. The black and white elements suggest a contemporary theme that is perhaps refelcted in the music. The name of the band is again, in very bold and clear lettering making it instantly easy for the audience to read. The band are positioned underneath strategically.
